I love drawings floral patterns and filigree with henna. It's very traditional, but I like giving it a more temporary look. I have been incorporating some Polynesian designs to my own and have been very happy with the results. Of coarse with my own arm being the pallet most accessible and willing I tend to cover the left arm giving it the illusion that I am in the process of some elaborate tattoo. I guess in a way that's true. I am always a work in process and tattoo, yes, but only temporary.

Addiction
Well with me being my most willing and available volunteer, I find myself having a hard time not decorating more areas of myself with henna. It's a bit easy to go overboard. I had a lovely plumeria, hybiscus, and Hawaiian tribal on my outside forearm and "needed" more. So I designed the cute little fishes to swim up and down my hand and finger. Henna tends to go on nice and dark on my hands, but because I am constantly washing them, it fade a lot faster there also. So tonight they were nothing but a super light shadow. So I was going to wait on another idea before I would start again.... Yea, I sixty last the night. Now I have more plumeria on my wrist. I'm hopeless, but at least I'm having fun!

Henna here henna there henna everywhere!
I have been doodling on everyone including myself lately. I love the fact that my victims (lol) are enjoying it as much as I do.
As much as I like traditional henna designs, I like not limiting it to patterns.

B is for Benjamin
My son came up with an idea for me to henna on his arm. It was fun for me to take his idea and transform it into his very own henna tattoo. I am sure he'll be strutting around at school tomorrow showing it off. Here are pictures of his idea then my translation of the idea and put to henna. It is still drying, but I can't wait to see how dark it gets in a day or so.

Killing fairies
So working on Rockabilly goodness. I have decided that my signature for my creations will be a skull. So somewhere in each you will know who made it. So I sat watching a movie this morning in my PJ's making a bunch of little skulls. I felt like I had just massacred a small family of fairies!

Henna
I tried a bit of henna from an Indian market not lo g ago. The mixture was a bit hard to use, but that's not always uncommon in pre mixed batches. Even though I fought a bit with the occasional blockage, I managed to get this on my arm as was very happy with the results. I included my doodle in the shot.
I am preparing my own henna and hope I have better luck with the consistency.
Living out of my phone
Living in a rural area is great until it comes to the internet, which I have gone without for almost 2 years now (ugh). But thanks to apps and my fabulous phone I can at least blog again! Yay!! So in my lack of being able to work as much with graphic arts I have been drawing random stuff and moving my talents toward temporary tattoos and henna. So forgive me as I blow my blog up with pictures of my doodles and body art. For anyone still peering into this sad little blog, thank you for sticking it out with me! :-)
